Freelance Writer

Hi, I’m Pamela

Pamela Koehne-Drube - Freelance Writer

I’m a freelance writer, editor, and researcher.  I’ve dedicated my life to books, reading, and the written word. Whether they are fiction or non-fiction, books are uniquely magical – they can inspire, transport, teach, and challenge.

I’ve been part of the book world for over a decade as an historian, ghostwriter, and professional editor, I’ve also worked as a bookseller giving me unique insight into the publishing and sales process and how authors can market their work.

I’ve worked on a wide variety of different books, ranging anywhere from picture books, to poetry, and even business biographies.  I also regularly edit and contribute to blogs ranging in topic from period furniture through to self-help.

I have never believed that books should be the reserve of a few.  I love making writing accessible to everyone. Writing is often seen as an impossible goal, but I don’t believe that.   I think it’s far more accessible than people realise.  No matter what your project, how big or how small, get in touch.  I’m here to help.

Should You Write What You Know?

Everyone knows the old adage: “Write what you know.” The statement holds true, but in its simple form, it’s at best, misleading, at worst, reductionist. What we know isn’t as straightforward as just what we’ve experienced, it’s what we read, and think, and...
